We are committed to working hand-in-hand with local government agencies to create programs with strong incentives that will increase waste diversion before waste disposal. It is within the best monetary and environmental interests of both the municipality and ourselves to reduce the amount of waste being hauled to local and more remote landfills. In keeping with the Canadian Council of Environment Ministers guideline of 50% waste reduction by the year 2000, we strongly believe that long term solutions to waste minimization and recycling can be most effectively attained through increased awareness, increased networking and collaboration between public, commercial and industrial ( www.rrd.ca )
