The Berwyn Fire Company has recently been honored for its commitment to training and firefighter safety by the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner. The company was recognized as a Participating Department in the Voluntary Fire Service Certification Program. The Berwyn Fire Co. becomes the 1st Fire Company in Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships, and only the fourth in the county, out of a total of 46, to receive this distinction. There are 271 fire companies, out of a total of 2,400, in Pennsylvania who have met the standards set forth in the program.
