The Wauconda Fire Department provides Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services to a community of approximately 40,000 people. Within approximately 50 square miles, the Wauconda Fire Department serves all or part of the following municipalities in northeastern Illinois: Port Barrington, Hawthorn Woods, Island Lake, Lake Barrington, Lakemoor, North Barrington, Tower Lakes, Volo and Wauconda as well as some unincorporated areas of Lake and McHenry Counties. Dedicated, highly trained people and programs designed for education and prevention, are components which distinguish the Wauconda Fire Department as more than just a community service agency.
