Art Gallery of Nova Scotia

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia's mission "is to serve the public by bringing the visual arts and people together in an environment which encourages exploration, dialogue, and enjoyment". The AGNS offers three types of exhibitions - temporary exhibits borrowed from artists, other galleries, and other institutions; exhibits of works from the permanent collection; and exhibits in our education gallery. The works of art exhibited in the gallery encompass a wide variety of media, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, videos, computer programs, ceramics, and fibre works. In addition to exhibits, we also provide art education through such activities as tours, classes, workshops, lectures, symposia, special events, and projects. ( www.agns.gov.ns.ca )
