LSC is a not-for-profit agency providing acquisition and processing services to public libraries. The original 1999 study and this revision covered only items that LSC supplied to libraries. The materials with the strongest coverage are English language material, hardcover books, paperback books, trade titles, library editions, compact discs and sound cassettes, videos/dvds, and adult and juvenile books. LSC maintains an extensive database of titles with detailed bibliographic information.
