The Vera Cruz Fire Company is a 100% volunteer fire company that was founded in 1942. Currently we have 24 active volunteer firefighters and fire police. Last year we responded to 156 calls and put in a total of 250 hours dedicated to fire calls. In addition to responding to emergencies we also have to hold fundraisers to raise money. Our funding sources include a yearly mailing campaign, various drawings, ham & cheese sandwich sales, support from the Vera Cruz Community Association and the Ladies Auxiliary.
