The Smithtown Fire Department is a volunteer organization whose mission is to provide the highest quality fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the residents of Smithtown and its surrounding communities. Organized in 1908, the Smithtown Fire Department has ever grown to meet the needs of our community. Today the department consists of more than 200 dedicated members, who are ready to respond 24 hours a day. In 2006, the members of the Smithtown Fire Department responded to 2,898 alarms.
