Newton Township provides police protection for its residents through the Newton Township Police Department. This service is in addition to South Abington Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police when our Chief is not on duty. Our police department is staffed by one full-time police officer, Chief Robert Reese, who has been with Newton Township since 1983. Chief Reese has completed the requisite number of hours of ACT 120 training, which is the state-mandated training program required for employment as a police officer. He also completes 40 hours of mandated in-service training each year on a number of pertinent topics which are selected by the Stae Municipal Police Officers education and Training
