The Boone County Fire Protection District and Missouri Task Force 1 operates the largest active volunteer staff of any fire service organization in the United States. The organization has a long-standing tradition of high-spirited volunteerism and has been become nationally and internationally known as a leader in the fire service due to the energy of the volunteers and the organization's strong desire to accept new responsibilities and exciting challenges.
