The Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department serves approximately 48% of Carroll County, with 50 members and 9 trucks including the 1931 Ford AA which is holds and honored place in the Department. The Department provides the best protection available and is constantly training its members in the latest fire-fighting methods. *The majority of the previous information was taken from past minutes of the department, minutes/records of the Hillsville Town Council and report written by Erroll Rhea Jett, for release in The Carroll News in 1973.
