Global Oceanic Carriers Limited has been incorporated on December 21, 2004. The Company (which was the first shipping company listed in London for many years) was listed for trading on the AiM Market of the London Stock Exchange on May 26, 2005 (AIM: GOC). Almost immediately after the listing at the end of May 2005, the dry bulk market suffered a sharp decline and charter rates were adversely affected. The decline lasted throughout the remainder of 2005 and into 2006, and only since the early summer of 2006 has the market shown a period of sustained recovery.
