Classical 89.3 , WCAL , is the independent public radio service of St. Olaf College. Our 89.3 FM signal covers the Minneapolis/St. Paul region and is repeated on 88.7 KMSE in Rochester, Minn. WCAL was licensed to broadcast in 1922; events of 1924 led the station to become America's first listener-supported station, and in 1968 WCAL began its FM broadcasts (read more about WCAL's history here ).
