For well over 20 years now, FST's New Play Development Program has helped to discover, create, and nurture such plays for its Mainstage and Cabaret theatres. Each year the program involves playwrights of all ages - children, youths and adults - throughout the United States. The results are world premiere plays representing the highest quality of contemporary theatre, such as Ethel Waters: His Eye is on the Sparrow by Lary Parr and Fakes by Lynne Kaufman on our Mainstage as well as Shakespeare's Greatest Hits and Inspired Lunacy, which were created and developed by FST for the Cabaret.
