The culmination of a three-year process to preserve classical music on the radio in Cleveland took place on November 1, 2001, when WCLV 104.9 FM was donated to the new non-profit WCLV Foundation, established under the auspices of The Cleveland Foundation. Robert Conrad and Richard Marschner, the majority stockholders of WCLV, made the donation. The WCLV Foundation board includes Susan Lajoie Eagan, Executive Director of Case Western Reserve University's Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations; Jerrold F.Wareham, President and CEO of ideastream (90.3 WCPN and WVIZ/PBS) and Kathryn Jensen, COO of ideastream; Steve Minter, former Executive Director of The Cleveland Foundation, plus Conrad and Marschner.
