Mackenzie Valley Construction Ltd.

Mackenzie Valley Construction is the major heavy equipment and construction company in the Mackenzie Delta and is headquartered in Inuvik, the company also has operations based out of Fort McPherson. The company specializes in road and highway construction and maintenance in the Western Arctic. It is also involved in oil and gas leases and hauling services throughout the Northwest Territories. The company is jointly owned by the Gwich'in Development Corporation and by Arctic Tire through a merger in the winter of 2002. Arctic Tire has operated in the north for over 20 years and the GDC Civil Construction was created soon after the Gwich'in land claim was signed in 1992, in response to the rising need for quality civil construction in the Gwich'in Settlement ( www.mvcl.ca )
