KIPP Academy is proud to be a cost-effective, public, urban middle school. Since its inception, KIPP Academy has spent less per pupil, per year than the New York Department of Education. This includes all costs associated with our regular academic programming as well as our extended day, extended week, extended year, and out-of-state field trips. On average, the New York City Department of Education spends at least $10,930 (2005) per middle school student. By contrast, KIPP Academy's audited per-pupil expenses for 2004 were $10,022 per student.
