Sentinel Oncology Ltd

The company was founded at the beginning of 2005 by Bob Boyle, Stuart Travers and Gavin Simpson. Following receipt of a grant for Research and Development from the East of England Development Agency, Cambridge University Cancer Biology specialist Professor Ashok Venkitaraman joined the board and the Cambridge Enterprise Seed Funds made its first investment of ,100,000 into the company. Sentinel has built a pipeline of small molecules designed to target hallmarks of solid tumours. In particular Sentinel is developing small molecule inhibitors that are activated selectively under tumour Hypoxia (the low oxygen environment found in all solid tumours).
