Robert Mackie of Scotland products are all manufactured in Stewarton, Scotland by Robert Mackie & Co (Knitwear) Ltd. Robert Mackie of Scotland was established in 1845 in Stewarton where bonnet (hat) making can be traced back for over 400 years. To-day our knitwear ranges have expanded from these traditional Scottish styles to the latest fashion ranges of knitted woollen hats, gloves and scarves. Many international retail outlets and designers are selling these products all over the world. Even to-day Stewarton is still known as the "Bonnet Town" but now Robert Mackie & Co is the only bonnet manufacturer remaining whereas in the 1700's nearly the whole town was ( www.woollenscarves.com )
