FoodTrust

FoodTrust of Prince Edward Island Ltd. is a not-for-profit marketing company developed with the aim of rewarding producers for marketing high-quality food items from sustainable systems. The FoodTrust model comes from author John IkerdÂ's definition of sustainability as environmentally sound, eceonomically viable and socially responsible. FoodTrust promotes increased environmental stewardship of the land and the sea, stregthens rural communities by improving returns to producers and processors, encourages social responsibility amongst its partners, and facilitates partnership opportunities between different industry sectors.
